Whether you are feeling stressed, having difficulty adjusting to a new job, working from home, or in a tough relationship, let me help you work through that difficult situation. I have experience providing individual, group, and family therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. I help people learn to manage anxiety, increase self-esteem, and get through life transitions. I use my expertise with evidened based practices to inform therapy sessions and help clients see results.
Due to COVID-19 all sessions are being facilitated virtually using a secure HIPPA compliant video provider. I am licensed to facilitate therapy to anyone within the state of California.
During individual therapy sessions clients can expect a mixture of talking and insight building activities. I will meet you where you are at and ask guided questions to help you get to where you want to be, utilizing evidenced based interventions that have been clinically proven to help others in similar situations.
Couples Counseling aids couples with learning how to better understand one another, effectively communicate, set boundaries, and facilitate healthy conflict resolution. Whether you are going through a rough patch or thinking about tying the knot it can help couples become stronger and grow together as one while maintaining their individuality.
Therapy can help children and teens work through difficult situations so that hard times do not affect them as they move closer to adulthood. With younger clients sessions may entail playing therapeutically, use of arts and crafts, and/or books to make our time together fun and less intimidating.
What to Expect
Making the choice to engage in therapy can be an overwhelming and scary experience. Congratulations on taking the first step on this new journey. I am here to help make this process easier and more comfortable for you. Our therapeutic relationship will begin with a free phone consultation for us to learn more about one another and determine that we will be a good fit. Then we will schedule our first intake appointment which will be a longer session to explore further the issues bringing you and/or your loved ones to therapy. Together we will determine goals for our sessions and begin working towards them in a variety of ways. After the intake appointment, sessions are typically 50 minutes in duration. Therapy will be most effective meeting weekly but the length in therapy will depend on you and what you are going through.
CBT is a foundation for understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This process can help us change maladaptive thinking and unhealthy habits into positive thoughts and healthy lifestyle choices.
Engaging in mindfulness activities helps you to turn off your thoughts and ground yourself in the present by focusing on your breath to reach a state of calm. Incorporating mindfulness in your daily life helps reduce stressful, anxious, or negative thoughts and feelings.
A foundation of anger management is the awareness of your internal and external triggers, and being able to control your body’s natural fight, flight, or freeze response. By understanding the ABC’s of anger you learn to replace unhelpful anger responses with positive coping skills.
